The new 7-pole miniCLIX version
has been optimized for usein
low voltage technology applications

Waldenburg – R. STAHL has extended its miniCLIX plug connector series with a 7-pole version (6 poles + PE for AC signals). The new type, which is certified according to EII 2G Ex de IIC T6, was specially developed for low voltage applications in Ex zone 1. It is designed for rated voltages up to 400 V AC and rated currents up to 16 A. MiniCLIX plug connectors serve to isolate non-intrinsically safe signals in hazardous areas. Their innovative design enables users to install, maintain and exchange all devices and systems in zone 1 during operation – it is no longer necessary to disconnect the device or obtain a special permit. Ex d field devices can be converted into "plug&play" units by means of a connector. The new miniCLIX version features two additional contacts and supports larger wire gauges (up to 15 mm in diameter) than previous models. The miniCLIX series, which has mainly been used in signaling and bus technology and in Industrial Ethernet so far, thereby qualifies for new applications. The 7-pole version is , for example, suitable for AC motors with coil monitoring or for servo signals for speed control. The IP66/68 protected connectors are available in plastic housings and as nickel-plated brass or stainless steel versions. By request, they can be delivered with pre-configured cables. The new 7-pole type also includes versions for armored cables and versions suited for direct mounting in Ex d housings.
